Donald Trump has promised to disclose the details of his finances if he decides to run for president, but not necessarily his tax returns. In our interview yesterday, he laid out a new condition for their release.
?Maybe I?m going to do the tax returns when Obama does his birth certificate?I?d love to give my tax returns. I may tie my tax returns into Obama?s birth certificate,? Trump said.
We covered a lot of ground in our 35 minute sit-down ? gas prices, his response to the Club for Growth, whether his businesses buy in America and why he no longer supports universal health care and a women?s right to choose ? and Trump stood his ground on the ?birther? controversy.
Stephanopoulos: You say it?s all about the messenger. A lot of Republicans think you?re a flawed messenger for the party. Karl Rove, again over the weekend, saying you?re a joke candidate, if you continue to raise questions about President Obama?s citizenship.
Trump: There?s a real question about the birth certificate. There?s a real question about the-- his own-- his own citizenship.
Stephanopoulos: There-- there is-- there is no question.
Trump: But-- but let me just say--

Stephanopoulos: He?s got a certificate of live birth that is recognized by the State Department.
Trump: George, George.
(OVERTALK)
Trump: George, I know exactly what you?re getting at.
Stephanopoulos: The facts.
(OVERTALK)
Trump: But for some reason-- no, they?re not the facts. He doesn?t have a birth certificate or he hasn?t provided. He?s given a certificate of live birth. It?s a much different instrument.
Stephanopoulos: A certificate of live birth meets the standard in the State Department--
(OVERTALK)
Trump: Not the same.
Stephanopoulos: --for any one citizenship.
Trump: George.
Stephanopoulos: There were contemporaneous reports in--
(OVERTALK)
Trump: George, they have co-opted you.

Stephanopoulos: You said that you sent investigators to Hawaii and you said quote, "They cannot believe what they?re finding."
(OVERTALK)
Trump: We?re going to see what happens, George.
Stephanopoulos: What have they found?
Trump: We?re going to see what-- that?s none of your business right now. We?re going to see what happens.
Trump told me the birther controversy is not his "main issue" and said he "hopes" Obama has his birth certificate. But this issue is one reason Trump may be sky-rocketing to the top of national polls and is now interviewing candidates for campaign manager, such as Ralph Reed, formerly of the Christian Coalition.
?I?m looking at the poll numbers. I see what?s happening with this country. This country is in such trouble,? he told me.
So what are the odds he?ll run?
?Well, I don?t want to say odds. I don?t want to put myself in that position I don?t want to put you in that position. But I will tell you, I love this country. I hate what?s happening to it and you may very well be surprised,? he told me.

I'm the first guy to say I'd like to see Obama defeated in 2012. That said, I'd like to see a serious person with concrete solutions elected president. The Donald is not it.

Are you telling me that my kids, both born in Maryland, can NOT become President because Maryland doesn't offer "Birth Certificates"? They ONLY have "Certificate of Live Birth" certificates!

I would like to know what the GOP is doing? Why are they still allowing Trump to speak as one of them? What are they hiding while he speaks?
The only GOP members that have spoke out against Trump are potential candidates.

Right or wrong, Trump has a point about the lack of a birth certificate. Imagine if Trump is correct and Obama is illegal !!! Then Obama can be held Liable to the economic costs of this country. But even worse, we Americans look like fools to follow Obama ! Be open-minded, not ignorant.......

I am not a fan of Trump or Obama, However, I have a Certificate of Live birth from the hospital that I was born in, raised seal and all. I have used it many times for identification purposes, but they would not accept it to get a United States of America Passport, all I had to do was contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics in the state I was born and pay $20.00 to get a legal copy of my Birth Certificate. Why doesn't Obama just do that?? this would have shut Donald Trump up a long time ago!Or does he have something to hide??

Trump is rude and arrogant...always has been and gets more so each year. Talking to George like that!!! The certificet of life birth is the same as they use to provide when I was born in Kansas and has always served me well.I think Trump used other people's money and then bankrupted at least twice and hope someone investigates that part of him. He is tough talking because he knows so little that has to be his MO. Please, please do not let him get near the Presidency !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do the opinion pundits in the controlled media insist on carrying Obama's water? The Obama administration has NOT released a birth certificate, period end of story. If they don't have a birth certificate, why don't they just be honest and say "look we don't have a BC because (x,y,z), but we have this "certificte of live birth". That would bring closure to this issue. By playing politics, they look like they're hiding something. A "Certificate of live Birth" is not a "Birth Certificate".

Question: Why did President Obama use a Social Security number set aside for applicants in Connecticut while there is no record he ever had a mailing address in the state.
In addition, records indicate the number was issued between 1977 and 1979, yet Obama?s earliest employment reportedly was in 1975 at a Baskin-Robbins ice-cream shop in Oahu, Hawaii.

I have news for everyone, in case anyone hasn't realized this; no matter who runs for president in this day and age is NOT perfect. Trump is powerful, will tell us like it is, "your fired" is a phrase we need to use in congress, if he runs this country like he runs his empire this country can get back on its feet again! I vote trump!

He keeps speaking about Obamas birth certificate I believe he had to fine somthing that would get the publics attention. Good job don.
